Reading Assessment in April-EARBUDS NEEDED
This April, students in grade 9-11 will be required to take the computer-based Florida Standard Assessment in Reading. With this new test, there is a listening section which requires the use of earbuds or headphones.
With this, we would like to encourage our students to bring their own earbuds or headphones for each day of the Reading Assessement this coming April.

Mathematics Assesssment Preparation
This April, students will be taking the Florida Standards Assessment for Mathematics.  We will provide a calculator for each student during testing.
However, in order to prepare for this assessment, we encourage students to use the TI-30Xa calculator in their math classes.  This is the only Texas Instrument calculator that meets state requirements for the assessment.
The online test will have a pop-up of the allowable calculator found on FSA portal site: Click HERE to see the pop-up version.
Please note that the Board approved three Wednesdays in April to be "regular schedule" days.

The following Wednesdays will not be early release days in order to accommodate state testing:
Wednesday, April 15, 2015
Wednesday, April 22, 2015
Wednesday, April 29,2015

Freshmen, Sophmores, and Juniors, and Seniors
Please note that current seniors and future graduates are required by law to complete an online course.

See the following statute regarding this important graduation requirements:

Please see your Guidance Counselor for more information!

Gateway Students & Parents:

This morning, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 GHS received information from local law enforcement officials concerning a possible threat to student safety.   Administration and staff worked with emergency services personnel to ensure that the campus was safe for our GHS family.

Once the campus was determined to be safe by the Sheriff’s Office and School District Staff, students were sent to class.   All classes, testing and planned activities took place as scheduled.

The person responsible for the threat was apprehended by local law enforcement officials.

We appreciate your trust and confidence.  If you have additional questions or concerns please call Gateway to speak to an administrator.
