NEVER PAY ANYONE FOR SCHOLARSHIP ASSISTANCE!

The Class of 2011 documented $1,874,812.00 in university merit offers; $667,812.00 in federal grants; and $87,562.00 in community scholarships.  Additionally, in Bright Futures funding, they were awarded 9 Florida Academic Scholarships, 100 Florida Medallion Scholarships and 4 Gold Seal Scholarships!  We challenge the Class of 2013 to exceed these achievements.

College and Career Counseling at GHS

Gateway High School now has a College and Career counselor for Students. Mrs. Donato is available Building 1, Room 109 to help with any College, Career, or Financial Aid questions. Please view a list of some of the scholarships available to students. There are more out there, go find the money you need for college!


Tips for filing FAFSA (Federal Application for Federal Student Aid):

  • www.fafsa.ed.gov  
  • Males must be registered with Selective Service to receive funding

  • Untaxed SS benefits do not have to be reported.

  • Household size is immediate family members only.

  • Do not include parents in # attending college.

  • You must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. National, or Eligible Non-Citizen for funding – determination is made by the college financial aid office.

  • Do not report primary residence as net worth or real estate.

  • If parents are divorced, report info for parent you lived with the most (step-parent's income must be included if you live in the same home with them).

  • Never report guardian info unless you are legally adopted.
